The village of Avdou lies deep in the Cretan inland, at the foot of the Lassithi plateau mountain range. At the southern end of the village, the eco-tourism facility Avdou Villas offers an alternative way of getting away from it all. It is situated on a 2.2 hectare organic farming estate in the evergreen valley of Lagada. Olive trees, oranges, tangerines, apricot trees, kiwis and a vegetable garden grow all over the estate. Evening meals are available by arrangement, with two menus (one vegetarian) offered per day. Most of the food comes from the organic farm. The majority of dishes are cooked in the traditional wood stove. Hands-on training on the organic cultivation of trees / vegetables.
