Rustic farmhouse in the foothills of the Serra da Estrela - 'Mountains of the Stars'. Unspoilt views in a private wooded river valley. The Rio Alva is at the bottom of the garden. Great for swimming, canoeing, fishing, or simply chilling. Also good for mountain biking, cycling and walking as this area has many wild tracks and beauty spots. Spacious house, large kitchen, gas cooker, and Rayburn wood-burning stove. Back door to patio, eating area under gazebo of vines, organic kitchen garden. Guests can help themselves to what's in season in return for watering twenty minutes every other day, by arrangement. Historic villages, granite houses and rural life intact. Weekly markets.
