Once a dairy farm deep in rural North Wiltshire, Lower Shaw Farm now has another life. It's a 3 acre organic oasis in an area of new development, with large organic vegetable, herb and flower gardens, poultry and black mountain sheep. There are wildlife areas with native shrubs and trees, ponds and play spaces. The outbuildings have been converted into dormitories, meeting rooms and workshops, and it is now a flourishing meeting place and residential centre, running courses, conferences and learning holidays. These include rural crafts, family activities, etc. The food is mostly home grown or local and organic, and is all freshly prepared. Lower Shaw Farm won the Ethical Garden category of the Observer Ethical Awards 2009.
