Research site in a desert area of south east Spain. One of the main aims and interests is the organic approach to the growing of plants, and every attempt is made to use the gardens to provide food for the vegetarian community. The project has a full time gardener and seeks to combine traditional organic food growing with more experimental techniques, producing potatoes, tomatoes, beans, salads, gourds and squashes. Among the more exotic fruit trees on the project are loquats and Chinese figs. The harvest for orange trees lasts from November to April. Rooms are very basic with 2-5 beds. A working visitor is expected to work for 24 hours a week (four hours on six mornings).
