The hotel is set in the picturesque valley of Easedale in the heart of the Lake District, half a mile from the village of Grasmere. It provides comfortable and relaxing accommodation and makes a wonderful escape from a busy world. There are some lovely walks from the door. The house has many connections with past and present writers, poets, artists and musicians. The Green Valley Vegetarian Restaurant at Lancrigg is open daily for breakfast, lunch, tea, and evening meals. The food is freshly prepared, and the imaginative menu has been designed by experienced chefs and a qualified nutritionist. Special diets are well catered for. Most of the dishes have a vegan alternative. Booking is advisable for evening meals.
