Situated in a small village in the Arctic countryside surrounded by forest, wetlands and rivers, Aurora Retreat offers visitors the chance to experience Lapland off the beaten track. The guest house is a former vicarage that has been newly renovated in a simple but elegant style using natural materials. We are committed to sustainability practices that maintain and restore the health of natural ecosystems, local economies and the well being of our guests. Meals are vegetarian or made with local wild meat and fish. Over 90% of the food served is organic or wild. Activities available include Northern Lights tours, dog sledding, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, walking, cycling, bread baking, handicraft, yoga and relaxation.
