Perched almost a thousand feet up, this silver stone former Georgian rectory is situated in the Shropshire / Welsh hills, an area of unspoilt natural beauty. The restaurant (AA two rosette good food award), with its huge south facing sash windows, is central to the Pen-y-Dyffryn experience. The relaxed and almost 'retreat like' feel of the hotel is complemented by the increasing use of local and organic produce in the kitchen, so that guests depart feeling thoroughly revitalised. Set in 5 acres of grounds the hotel offers superb accommodation including some bedrooms with private patios, others with spa baths. The gardens run down to the river marking the border, the banks of which are being managed as a nature reserve.
