Country House Hotel
Dinner B&B, £75-£80 per person per night
Local and organic produce, salads and vegetables fresh from our own garden
An 18th century house set amid lands still used for grazing sheep on a promontory facing the island of Vaila. On the remote and peaceful west coast of Shetland it is surrounded by spectacular scenery. Breakfasts include proper oatmeal porridge and home baked croissants, followed by main courses such as black pudding, kippers or local smoked fish. We offer honest, straightforward food made from the best ingredients. The cook decides daily what is set on the menu, according to what is fresh and available locally. There is a wide variety of fresh fish - halibut, turbot, crab, lobster, sea trout, salmon, cod, squid, haddock, mackerel, mussels, smoked fish, and so on. We use local lamb from the hills, heather fed and succulent.
