Built in 1868 as the village inn, the hotel overlooks the Sound of Iona to the pink and blue hills of Mull. We have a strong environmental ethos, and this encompasses the entire range of activities surrounding the hotel's day to day management. For the past forty years the hotel has had its own organic garden, producing fresh produce for the kitchen. Eggs are local and free range. We also promote Scottish organic meat. Baking and dry goods are sourced from Greencity Wholefoods [fair trade and organically produced goods]. We achieved a Gold Award for sustainability from the Green Tourism Business Scheme in 2001, and full organic certification from the Soil Association in 2004. Booking a table is essential for dinner.
