A large country house on a 400 acre farm, 30km east of Cork. The hotel is family run, on the family farm. We offer comfortable accommodation and an award winning restaurant in pleasant rural surroundings. The Ballymaloe restaurant was started by Myrtle Allen as the Yeats Room, and has become world famous. At its heart is a culinary philosophy founded on enhancing the natural flavours of the best and freshest local ingredients. Ballymaloe has a two acre walled vegetable and herb garden [not certified organic], where most of the restaurant's herbs and vegetables are grown, as well as some fruit. The organic farm and gardens surrounding the Ballymaloe Cookery School supplies pork and vegetables.
